I got my first chance to work with Event Sourcing and CQRS in 2014 when I first moved to London. While I had read about DDD, Event Sourcing and CQRS, I didn't have a chance to apply them previously, and I had just joined a team where everyone was equally inexperienced on these subjects, who had to build -and maintain- a solution using Event Sourcing and CQRS.

I tried to learn from any and all resources available to me, but it quickly became apparent that while the resources covered the basics and clearly explained what these patterns were really about, there was a gulf between what I knew and what I needed to know. Now I know that this gap exists because these patterns while easy and simple to understand, do in fact complicate almost everything else. This is because everything is influenced, with novel problems presenting themselves, problems which we are unprepared to recognise, far less to deal with.

In this open space session, you will be given the chance to ask questions about CQRS and ES, and have an open discussion about them with people who may have faced the same kinds of problems and resolved them.
