A Journey into Securing the Cloud using Confidential Computing with .NET

As more organizations transition to cloud environments, protecting sensitive information presents new challenges, particularly regarding data in use rather than just in storage or transit. Confidential Computing addresses this issue by enabling the processing of data within secure enclaves at the hardware level, ensuring that data remains shielded from external parties, including cloud providers.

This session will demonstrate how to incorporate Confidential Computing features into .NET applications using tools such as Azure Confidential VMs, Azure Kubernetes Service with Confidential Nodes, and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). It will cover practical approaches for securing sensitive workloads, utilizing Azure Key Vault Managed HSM for key management, and maintaining compliance requirements, which is especially relevant for regulated industries.

In this session, you will learn:
• The concept of Confidential Computing and its current relevance
• Methods for implementing enclave-based security in existing .NET projects
• Best practices and common challenges when deploying Azure’s Confidential Computing services
• How to verify that workloads operate in a trusted, secure environment

Professionals in healthcare, finance, defense, or other sectors seeking to strengthen their security practices will gain practical knowledge for applying Confidential Computing with .NET in various projects.
