Kubernetes Crash Course for Application Developers

So your company is using Kubernetes? It sounds like a good idea to you as an application developer, DevOps people will take care of that right? It's all fun and games until one day you're trying to debug or make a change and you realize that you have no idea how a ConfigMap is attached to a Deployment so the Pod can have access to it and expose the Service through the Ingress via an Ingress Controller. Oh, it was all because you're in the wrong Namespace.

As Kubernetes continues to gain in popularity having a basic understanding of how to get around a cluster will be required by more and more people. I'll demystify the vernacular and what running on Kubernetes means for you as an application developer.

First delivered at Scenic City Summit 2022.
