Write-Back in Power BI with Translytical Task Flows
Ever wish your Power BI reports could do more than just visualize data—like update records, trigger actions, or automate workflows—all without leaving the report?
In this introductory session, you'll learn how the new Translytical Task Flows in Microsoft Fabric (currently in preview) enable true write-back and automation by combining interactive visuals with Fabric user data functions.
Previously, enabling write-back required embedding a Power Apps application, which came with Premium license requirements—especially for SQL-based data sources. Now, you can interact directly with Fabric SQL databases using built-in capabilities, with no added licensing overhead.
We’ll cover core concepts, walk through a simple example, review setup steps, and highlight key limitations—so you can start building interactive, action-driven Power BI reports with confidence.
