Ask {event name}: Building a Conference Assistant with Microsoft Agent Framework

Fifty sessions, six rooms and only one of you. Picking the right talks at {event name} is harder than it should be, and the agenda alone won’t tell you which sessions match your interests or which ones clash.

In this session, we’ll build an AI assistant for this very event with Microsoft Agent Framework. We’ll start with Microsoft.Extensions.AI and RAG to ground answers in the real agenda, then create agents that know every session and speaker. Next, we’ll connect them in a MAF workflow that asks for your interests, recommends talks, checks for clashes and waits for your approval before building your personal agenda. Finally, we’ll expose it all through an MCP server, so you can ask about {event name} from VS Code, Copilot or Claude.

You’ll walk away knowing when to use an agent, when you need a workflow, and how to build both on your own data. Or, at the very least, you’ll know which talk to see next!
