Session
Accelerating DevOps Efficiency: Deploying SonarQube on GKE using Helm Charts
This session will cover how to use Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, and Cloud Armor to create, deploy, and manage a Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) cluster and deploy SonarQube using Helm charts. We will demonstrate how to use Terraform to create a GKE cluster that meets your specific requirements, such as defining the cluster size, node pool configuration, and network settings.
Once the GKE cluster is up and running, we will show you how to use the Helm provider in Terraform to deploy SonarQube to your GCP environment. The Helm provider in Terraform enables you to manage your Helm charts and releases as part of your infrastructure-as-code workflow.
We will also cover how to use Cloud Armor to whitelist specific IPs to control access to your GKE cluster. Cloud Armor is a web application firewall (WAF) service that enables you to protect your applications and services against threats.
Finally, we will demonstrate how to use GitHub Actions to automate the deployment of infrastructure and manage access control using Cloud Armor. You will learn how to set up a workflow to trigger the deployment process when a new commit is pushed to your repository, enabling you to achieve greater consistency, reliability, and scalability in your deployments, while reducing the risk of errors and downtime.
By combining the power of Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, and Cloud Armor, you can accelerate your DevOps efficiency and streamline your deployment process. With the ability to version control your infrastructure, you can maintain consistency and reproducibility across your environments, reducing the risk of errors and improving your team's productivity.
Whether you are new to these tools or an experienced user looking to expand your skills, this session will equip you with the knowledge and techniques you need to succeed in today's fast-paced development environment. Attendees will learn how to create a GKE cluster using Terraform, deploy SonarQube with Helm, manage access control with Cloud Armor, and automate the deployment process with GitHub Actions. By the end of this session, you will have a comprehensive understanding of how to use these tools to create, deploy, and manage your cloud infrastructure and applications with confidence and ease.
