Firms face complex cost allocations across policies, products, and departments during financial close. Traditional systems struggle with transparency and runtime. In this session, we’ll demonstrate how to use Databricks for cost object and driver analysis, unifying finance, HR, and operational feeds into Delta Lake. We’ll build allocation models that can iterate quickly at scale, with lineage tracked in Unity Catalog, making period-end processing more auditable. Examples include allocating IT shared services, HR costs, Operational cost, Customer acquisition expenses & other OPEX costs.

Attendees will leave with patterns for accelerating close cycles and producing explainable cost allocations using Databricks instead of legacy allocation engines.
