Abstractions appear everywhere - even when you're renovating your house: Ceramic tiles come in all shapes and patterns, but beneath them lie ideas from math and computer science.

In this talk we'll explore how tilings can manifest as abstractions of data structures - from simple squares and hexes to the strange worlds of Einstein and Specter tiles (yes... you can put something called "Einstein Tiles" in your bathroom).
