A Policy-As-Code Framework for Enforcing Geopolitical Data Residency in Hybrid OpenShift Clusters
In the era of data-driven enterprises, multinational organizations face a critical tension: the need to leverage hybrid cloud architectures for global scalability versus the imperative to comply with increasingly fragmented geopolitical data sovereignty regulations (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CSL in China, and strict US sectoral mandates). Traditional compliance approaches, which rely on manual audits or static perimeter firewalls, are proving insufficient for modern containerized environments where workloads and data volumes are dynamically orchestrated across borders.
This introduces "Federated Sovereignty," a novel Policy-as-Code framework designed to enforce granular, geopolitical data residency controls within hybrid Kubernetes ecosystems, with a specific reference implementation on Red Hat OpenShift.
Good for 30 mins session.
