Cross Community Collaboration: Brainstorm Ideas, Host Amazing Events and Lessons Learnt
Coming from a region which holds one of the largest and most diverse developer community and having more than 6 years of experience in tech communities, we always thrive to walk the extra mile and take new initiatives. India has more than 300 communities, out of which Google has more than 100.
During all these years, we have been doing cross community collaborations. We both love to travel, explore and meet new people. We have collaborated with different communities from our ecosystem as well as with other communities.
Our presence from GDD India to Global GDG Leads Summit, our experience hosting and attending national and international conferences globally, our experience delivering technical and non-technical talks in different regions, all of that has helped us organise events in collaboration.
We want to share our journey, highlighting our experience and key points which would help other communities and organisers execute better. We would be talking about obstacles faced like: time constraint while collaborating and taking sync-up with multiple people, even managing events in different time-zones! Moreover, we would be talking about how to overcome these obstacles.
Finally, after highlighting challenges and how to overcome them, we would be highlighting some of the outstanding ideas and initiatives that are experimented by us and have proven results. Most of the community organisers can take note of and apply while collaborating with other communities and even modify up to good extent. This would apply to small scale as well as large scale communities, events and audience.
