Beyond the Build - What It Really Takes to Launch a Copilot Knowledge Agent

Everyone wants a Copilot agent. Knowledge retrieval agents often look deceptively simple. The content already exists in SharePoint, and Copilot Studio can build an agent in a few hours. Yet many organisations discover that creating the agent is often the easiest part of the journey.

Successful knowledge agents require more than just connecting a SharePoint library and publishing a solution. Content quality, stakeholder alignment, permissions, testing, user expectations, feedback management, communications, and support processes all play a critical role in determining whether an agent becomes a frequently used assistant or an ignored experiment.

Drawing on real scenarios of launching Copilot knowledge agents, this session focuses on everything that happens before, during and after the build. We'll explore content readiness, requirements gathering, agent evaluation, pilot design, feedback analysis, launch communications, support models, and continuous improvement.

We'll explore these elements through the lens of adoption and change management. Building trust, setting expectations, engaging stakeholders, and closing the feedback loop are often the factors that determine long-term success.

Attendees will leave with a practical framework for taking a Microsoft Copilot knowledge agent from idea to successful adoption. Although the session focuses on knowledge retrieval scenarios, the framework can be adapted to many other Copilot Studio agent implementations, including agents that use tools, workflows and more advanced orchestration.
