Beyond Chatbots: Engineering AI Experiences That Users Actually Love
We've all been there. On a site and we need help and a chatbot comes into view. Your spirits plunge as you realise that this is not going to be fun. This is how so many users interact with AI on a daily basis.
How about if instead of this, we can actually figure out how to use AI to help our users, and more than that - make it a joy to use!
In this talk we explore why chatbots may not be the answer to everything (and why adding AI in this way without thinking it through will cause frustration and anger for your users!).
We'll look at some other ways that we can use AI in our applications and then go full circle and see some cases where the chatbot might actually be useful!
Whether you are UX designer, involved in product management, or a developer, you'll leave with a better understanding of how and when AI can be used for your users delight, and not just to please marketing!
This is a session about how we use AI and how to think of good use cases within your application. It is not a development session with demos, but instead covers how we use AI in a way that makes sense for your users.
