Standardizing Application Packaging: From Chaos to Consistency

In many organizations, application packaging is handled by multiple engineers, each using different tools and methods. The result? Inconsistent package quality, reduced maintainability, and wasted time.

In this session, I’ll share how to bring consistency, structure, and collaboration to your application packaging process using the right tooling. You don’t need to go fully automated on day one. Instead, I’ll show you how to start small, standardize your process first and evolve toward automation when your team is ready.

Using tools like Visual Studio Code, Git, and PSAppDeployToolkit, I’ll demonstrate how teams can build a shared packaging standard that improves quality and reduces friction. I’ll also introduce the Intune App Factory, a community solution I’ve worked with to automate repetitive tasks and simplify publishing to Microsoft Intune.

Whether you’re just getting started with packaging or already have experience, this session will equip you with practical knowledge to make packaging more efficient, scalable, and future-proof.
