Azure Synapse Analytics started as the next evolution of Azure Data Warehouse (previously Azure Analytics Platform System and Parallel Data Warehouse) with Apache Spark and Azure Data Factory in one "package". Now, with new capabilities like SQL Serverless, Power Query Online, Azure Synapse Link, Data Lakes, Delta Lake, Power BI and more there is a need for a single front-end to build end-to-end BI/Analytic solutions. Microsoft saw this need and was able to make Azure Synapse Analytics the umbrella product to cover all these tools in a single web-based UI called Azure Synapse Studio. Previously to do data integration (ETL/ELT), data exploration, data warehousing and reporting it required switching between multiple tools/web UIs to complete each of these steps, now it can all be done in one web UI! In this session we will go through all of these new capabilities with lots of demos so that you can see if this is right for your company to build the future of BI/Analytic solutions in Azure!
