Session
Engagement in the Age of Autonomous Everything
As autonomous systems, AI agents, and self-optimising platforms take on more decision-making and execution, organisations face an unexpected challenge: declining human engagement. When systems act on our behalf, traditional ideas of productivity, ownership, and motivation no longer apply.
This session explores how engagement must be redefined in an era where autonomy is the default. Rather than focusing on activity or output, engagement shifts toward intent, judgment, oversight, and learning. Attendees will gain a practical framework for designing roles, teams, and systems that keep humans meaningfully involved — not sidelined — in highly autonomous environments.
The talk is aimed at technology leaders, architects, product owners, and practitioners who are building or operating agentic systems and want to ensure people remain motivated, accountable, and essential.
