I once built a pair of South African Sign Language gloves which convert sign language into spoken English. I used a total of 22 sensors and developed a pair of gloves which can translate dynamic and static gestures with an accuracy of 98.7%. There were many things I learnt whilst doing this including: assistive technologies need to be informed by the people they're meant to assist and that you should never get your mom to sew the gloves as it will create tension in your family.
