AI Literacy: Because Ignorance Isn’t a Strategy
AI is no longer a distant, futuristic concept—it is embedded in the tools we use everyday, influencing everything from Government policy to keeping Nigerian Princes out of your inbox. Yet, public understanding of AI remains limited, it’s a black box surrounded by confusion, misinformation, and uncertainty, rather than practical knowledge grounded in fact. Without widespread AI literacy, these technologies will remain concentrated among a small elite, restricting meaningful public engagement and informed discussions.
This session explores how AI literacy serves as the foundation for responsible AI adoption, transforming it from a buzzword into a practical skillset that empowers individuals across all levels of an organization. AI literacy isn’t technical proficiency—it is the ability to understand, evaluate and make informed decisions about artificial intelligence. The session will demystify key concepts of AI Literacy while also addressing ethical considerations and governance associated with AI.
Building AI literacy isn’t a one-time initiative—it requires a structured, ongoing approach. Effective strategies begin with assessing knowledge gaps and tailoring training pathways for different roles within an organization. Attendees will leave with a roadmap for implementing AI literacy initiatives fostering critical thinking about AI applications.
