Drupal CMS is one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken by the Drupal community. It tries to solve some of the same problems long faced by distributions…but it’s not a distribution. It’s built entirely on Drupal’s game-changing new recipe system.

This session will look at how Drupal CMS compares to a traditional distribution, and share techniques you can use to build your own starter kits. We’ll cover:

- Drupal CMS’s install profile — why it’s there, what it does, and whether you need one.
- How to manage configuration in a site built with recipes.
- Designing recipes that are shareable building blocks.
- Making it easy to add new features.
