Design in, build it, run it – your ultimate blueprint for enterprise Fabric engineering

Welcome to the ultimate double-feature on enterprise data engineering in Microsoft Fabric. We aren't here for the basic UI wizards, going once again what a Lakehouse is, or to build static, hardcoded pipelines that break the moment a schema changes - this session is about moving past the common pitfalls into building a scalable, resilient, production-ready data platform.
In a half of a day we will take you on a journey from planning the architecture of the data system to using automation that is based on the information you have - and finally to running you data system like a big company would using enterprise-grade operations.
We start by dissecting the Medallion architecture through a strict enterprise lens. We'll debate the real-world trade-offs between Lakehouses and Warehouses, structure workspace boundaries, and map out where your data actually belongs. Then, we build the crown jewel: a fully metadata-driven ingestion engine. You will learn how to design a control database and use parameterized Fabric pipelines to transform static data loading into a reusable, dynamic framework capable of handling hundreds of tables without lifting a finger.
With the data flowing, we shift gears into advanced transformations and platform stability. We will explore how to efficiently process data from Silver to Gold, optimizing Delta tables using V-Order and notebooks while managing complex orchestration dependencies. Finally, we make it production-ready. You will learn how to tap into Fabric’s monitoring capabilities, build centralized alerting frameworks for when things inevitably go wrong, and implement Git-integrated CI/CD deployment workflows.
