Planning in Microsoft Fabric – from the both sides of the medal(lion)

Financial planning processes have traditionally existed as separate tools, more or less disconnected from the analytical platforms in the organizations. With the introduction of Planning functionality as a part of Fabric IQ in March, (which is quite quickly rolling into General Availability phase), those processes are brought to the analytical data and the ones which are already in Fabric.

Even though there are numerous planning tools already available, having one in Fabric allows an integrated approach – no additional software licenses are needed, Fabric capacity already covers it, and it leverages your existing Fabric data models.

In this session, we will show you the both sides of the medal – one from the perspective of data professional who spent years of preparing the enterprise data for planning, and other from the perspective of planner (turned data professional) who implemented numerous planning project.

The session will start by introducing business aspects of planning, followed first by the technical perspective in Microsoft Fabric and then from the planning implementation based on the prepared data. The planning part will be complemented with the demo which will show how easy it is to build your planning sheet based on the data already loaded to the analytical system.
