ASP.NET Core Data Protection: What Happens in Production?
ASP.NET Core Data Protection: What Happens in Production?
.NET 11 brings plenty of new features to explore, but some of the most important parts of ASP.NET Core are the ones we rarely think about.
The Data Protection API quietly protects authentication cookies, antiforgery tokens, and other sensitive data. It often just works in development, but things can change quickly when you deploy, restart, or scale your application across multiple instances.
In this session, we'll look at what Data Protection is doing behind the scenes, how its key ring works, why cookies can suddenly stop working in production, and how purpose strings and application names provide isolation between applications.
You'll leave knowing what your ASP.NET Core application depends on to keep protected data working reliably in production.
