Ctrl+Alt+Deploy: Windows Workloads as VMs on Kubernetes

Is KubeVirt ready to replace my current hypervisor? "Of course!" the community shouts, KubeVirt has been stable for a while now, and use cases like virtual Kubernetes workers on KubeVirt for autoscaling are running in production all over the world.
But one important aspect tends to get (sometimes intentionally) ignored: Most large enterprises still own a bunch of Windows VMs for specialized services, testing, or VDI (e.g. Windows Terminal Server).

While KubeVirt plays nicely with Linux, support for Windows has been a bit of a niche topic and wasn't in focus in the past.
This talk aims to get you up to date on the state of Windows on KubeVirt - what works and what aspects are still missing - trying to find an answer to the initial question: Is KubeVirt's support for Windows good enough to be a valid alternative to my current hypervisor or escape some cloud offerings?
