Session
From Chaos to Consistency: Building Reliable Environments with Packer and Terraform
Abstract:
In today's fast-paced and ever-changing technology landscape, it's crucial to have reliable and consistent infrastructure. But building and maintaining such an infrastructure can be a daunting task. In this talk, we'll share our personal experiences and insights on using Packer and Terraform to create and manage reproducible environments. We'll discuss the pain points we encountered when trying to make our environments reproducible and how Packer and Terraform helped us overcome these challenges.
We'll explore how to use Packer to build machine images and how to use Terraform to deploy those images to various environments. We'll also cover best practices for using these tools, including how to version control your infrastructure code and how to test and validate changes before deployment.
Whether you're a developer, an operations engineer, or a DevOps practitioner, this talk will provide valuable insights into how to create and maintain reliable and consistent environments using Packer and Terraform.
Audience:
This talk is intended for anyone interested in building reliable and reproducible infrastructure, including developers, operations engineers, and DevOps practitioners. Prior knowledge of Packer and Terraform is not required, but familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts would be helpful.
