Configuration Packages are a common way to move and reuse Business Central setup. But once a partner has to maintain setup across Base App functionality and multiple ISV solutions, they quickly become difficult to test and keep consistent.

As a consultant, I used AI to turn our existing configuration packages and setup knowledge into a maintainable Business Central app based on Microsoft’s Contoso Demo Tool - with the goal of faster customer onboarding and better demo data.

In this session, I’ll share why I moved setup into code, how far AI got me without traditional developer support, where it confidently got things wrong, and why version control and automated tests became essential along the way.
