Coding agents, like Claude Code and Codex, are everywhere - but they are not entirely magic. What if you could build one yourself, from scratch, in under an hour?

This fast-paced session takes you behind the scenes of modern CLI coding agents and shows how they actually work. Using Microsoft’s new Agent Framework and .NET, we’ll start with a blank console app and end up with a functioning coding agent that understands tasks, calls tools, writes and tests its own code. One rule: no AI-written code until our agent learns to code for itself.

The result is part engineering experiment, part live exploration of how the next generation of developer tools will be built.

You’ll leave with a clear mental model of how coding agents work, and a renewed sense of how far you can go with just .NET,  the Agent Framework, an API key, and curiosity.
