Security Through Isolation: MicroVMs for Code Review at Sc
Isolation is a primitive. At runtime, not in your threat model. You have untrusted code — user submissions, open-source dependencies, third-party integrations — that you need to execute without letting it break anything else or call home.
Lambda MicroVMs are Firecracker under the hood: a clean, ephemeral, single-use environment per invocation. We built an AI code review tool on top of it — clone a repo, run real security scans (bandit, ruff, safety) in isolation, feed the output to Bedrock, get a report back.
This session covers what the isolation boundary actually gives you, where it falls short, the measured costs, and which workloads beyond code review fit the same pattern. Because if you have untrusted execution to parallelize, MicroVMs change the math.
