STEAM, Not STEM: Taste Is the Last Scarce Thing
You don't break into tech by learning to code. You break in by having taste, and then reaching for whatever tool serves it.
AI cut the cost of a first version to almost zero. That did not make taste less valuable. It made taste the only scarce thing left. I'm living proof of that path: a former music teacher and Apple trainer, a DJ turned software engineer, and a former startup CTO.
The session opens with sound, not slides. Then the room directs me as I build an audio-reactive visualizer live, with AI. Everyone leaves with a running visualizer that responds to their own music, and the code to keep changing it.
First delivered at FamCon '26 (FamFrequency Productions), Philadelphia, September 2026. 45-50 minutes. Needs a screen with HDMI and room speakers for the audio. Attendees need only a phone or laptop with a browser. Target audience: creatives, musicians, career changers, and anyone told they are "not technical."
