I am an international software architect, born and raised in the picturesque city of Kathmandu, Nepal. In 2009, I embarked on a journey to the United States, driven by my unwavering determination to elevate my career in software development. My childhood was rooted in humble beginnings, hailing from a small rural village where access to educational resources was a rare privilege. However, I refused to let these circumstances deter my relentless pursuit of excellence in the field of computer science.
My fascination with computer science took root at a tender age, a time when computers were a luxury beyond the reach of many. Fortunately, I was introduced to this captivating world through my uncle, a dedicated computer engineer employed by Nepal's Health Department. His ardor for crafting efficient medical solutions through software left an indelible mark on me. Furthermore, my school played a pivotal role in nurturing my passion for computers by offering valuable lessons during my formative years. It was in this nurturing environment that I took my first steps into the realm of programming, mastering the QBASIC language and navigating the intricacies of the MSDOS operating system.
By the time I reached high school, I had gained substantial exposure to the fundamental principles of computer systems and their various components. Yet, the concepts of low-level and high-level programming, as well as compilation, remained elusive. Fueled by an insatiable desire to unravel these mysteries, I embarked on a transformative journey. Enrolling at Illinois College with a full tuition scholarship, I immersed myself in courses like "Concepts of Programming" and "Automata Theory," which demystified this once-obscure science, rendering it all the more captivating.
My fascination extended beyond the theoretical realm; I was entranced by the harmonious orchestration of computer systems and the pivotal role each component played. During my childhood, I exhibited an innate curiosity by disassembling and reverse-engineering electronic toys, crafting unique contraptions with specific functions. Many of these creations found their way into my school's computer science competitions, where I clinched first place on numerous occasions.
My life's purpose and passion revolve around continuing this remarkable odyssey in the realm of computer science and extending a helping hand to economically disadvantaged and underprivileged children in rural Nepal. I firmly believe that technology is a powerful catalyst for positive change in the lives of rural communities, a means to unlock their untapped potential. Sharing a common background, I am deeply committed to giving back to my community by making computer science accessible to all. I aspire to witness the emergence of the next Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg from these remote areas.
As a regular participant at KCDC, I yearn to share my unwavering passion with like-minded individuals who share my vision for creating a brighter future. I hope to become an integral part of this vibrant community, united by our shared goal of effecting positive change through technology. Together, we can continue to fuel the flame of innovation and opportunity in the world of computer science.
