Sameer Agarwal is an Apache Spark Committer and the CTO/Co-Founder of Deductive AI. He received his PhD in Databases from UC Berkeley (advised by Prof. Ion Stoica), and his B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (President of India Gold Medalist). Previously, he was a founding engineer at Databricks and the engineering lead for large-scale query engines at Facebook. He was recently honored with the ACM EuroSys 2023 10-year Test of Time Award.
