Actions
Scott Pomeroy began his career as an auditor and has spent the four decades since moving between the finance chair, the chief executive's office, and the boardroom at companies in aerospace and drones, healthcare, media, consumer products, and financial services. He lives in Littleton, Colorado, and now advises public and soon-to-be-public companies on strategy, capital structure, market positioning, and how to work productively with investment bankers and investors. Until August 2026, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of XTI Aerospace, Inc. (Nasdaq: XTIA), a role he reached through a capital-raising engagement and an interim finance role. That progression is characteristic: companies hire Scott Pomeroy to advise, then ask him to run things.
Scott Pomeroy graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico in 1984 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, and earned his Certified Public Accountant certification the following year. He joined KPMG Peat Marwick and rose from auditor to Senior Manager over eight years there, through 1992. Auditors learn to read a company from its records rather than its story. This habit explains the assignments he has drawn since: situations in which the balance sheet, the capital structure, and the operating plan all needed attention at once.
Scott Pomeroy's first operating post was at Lewis Foods Group, a $250 million food-processing business, where he was President and Chief Financial Officer from 1993 to 2000. He negotiated acquisitions there, rebuilt the sales, marketing, and plant organizations, and secured a long-term manufacturing agreement with The Pillsbury Company. In 1998, the company handed him full operating leadership, and in 1999 he saw the group through its sale to Diageo. Two shorter assignments followed: Chief Financial Officer of Eotec Capital, LLC from 2000 to 2002, then a 2002 engagement advising Qwest Communications on the QwestDex divestiture through CEO Partner Group, LLC, covering the carve-out, the sale terms, and a controls review that reached more than 25 senior finance executives.
In November 2002, Scott Pomeroy joined Dex Media, Inc. (NYSE: DEX), the third-largest directory publisher in the country at roughly $1.6 billion in revenue, as Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer. Over the next two years, he managed more than $3 billion in high-yield offerings and more than $3 billion in bank financings, including a $1 billion sponsor dividend. He helped bring the company's $1 billion initial public offering to market. Promoted to Chief Financial Officer in February 2005, he took on investor and analyst conversations, clarifying how the market should think about the company's free cash flow, its tax-shield economics, and which comparable companies applied. The stock climbed roughly 30% across his 14 months in the role. He then negotiated the sale of the company to R.H. Donnelley, delivering approximately 90% to the private equity sponsors over a three-year hold. From the carve-out of Qwest through the 2004 offering to the 2006 merger, Dex Media was, at that point, the second-largest buyout in U.S. corporate history.
In March 2006, Scott Pomeroy became founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Local Insight Media and The Berry Company, a Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe portfolio company, and led it until January 2011. The business grew into the country's fifth-largest directory publisher, with approximately $600 million in annual revenue and 1,600 employees. He folded in six acquisitions spanning the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, reviewed more than 150 digital companies, put four technology partnerships in place, and drove the shift from print directories to digital local-media products across the organization.
A similar assignment waited overseas. From February 2011 through August 2012, Scott Pomeroy served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Yellow Pages Group of New Zealand, arriving after the company's lenders swapped roughly NZ$1.5 billion of debt for equity. The business generated about NZ$250 million in revenue and was 85% print and 15% digital when he took over; he set it toward a balanced portfolio and rebuilt the executive team around the new ownership group.
Scott Pomeroy's next act was entrepreneurial. He founded Pinnacle Medical Partners in January 2013 and led it as Chief Executive Officer through August 2017, seeding it himself and raising a further $3 million of equity. He bought and integrated six medical practices covering seven locations and more than 30 providers, reached roughly $12 million in revenue, assembled the second-largest independent provider network in Colorado, and sold to a healthcare-focused private equity sponsor.
He stayed with the successor business, OnPoint Medical Group, as Chief Strategy Officer from August 2017 to February 2020. There he helped complete five more practice acquisitions, took the group past 100 physicians and advanced-practice providers across 15 locations and past $35 million in annual revenue, and negotiated a joint venture with a regional hospital system.
In February 2020, Scott Pomeroy co-founded Gen3 Financial Services. He served as its Chief Executive Officer until July 2022, supplying private financing, capital-markets planning, mergers-and-acquisitions support, and interim C-suite leadership to companies in aerospace, software, healthcare, media, and real estate. One Gen3 engagement, with XTI Aircraft, shaped the years that followed.
He arrived at XTI in July 2022 to raise capital. As the mandate widened, he took the Interim Chief Financial Officer seat, and in March 2024 the board named him Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of XTI Aerospace, Inc. (Nasdaq: XTIA). Through August 2026, he raised more than $100 million in public and private financings and helped move market capitalization from roughly $5 million at the outset to roughly $60 to $70 million. He drove the strategic pivot and the purchase of Drone Nerds, which gave XTIA a scaled commercial and government drone distribution platform, and aligned financing, acquisitions, and operations behind a clearer value-creation thesis.
AVX Aircraft Company has kept Scott Pomeroy on its board since 2009. Earlier seats included Yellow Pages Group of New Zealand (2011 to 2013), Local Insight Media and its affiliates (2006 to 2011), and the Yellow Pages Association, where he was Director and Treasurer from 2008 to 2011. Outside of business, he served eleven years on the Board of Education at Valor Christian High School, including five to six years as Chairman. He runs the Gen3 Foundation, which backs faith-based and family-friendly film, television, and stage productions, and gives annually through a Donor Advised Fund at the National Christian Foundation. He mentors younger executives, handing on judgment only in financings, acquisitions, restructurings, and genuinely hard situations.
The companies Scott Pomeroy takes on today tend to have strategic potential their capitalization, valuation, or investor narrative does not yet reflect. His work spans private and public capital, debt and structured securities, acquisitions, joint ventures, and reverse-merger alternatives. He sits between four rooms that rarely hear each other clearly: management, the board, the capital markets, and the operating business. He knows what investors and bankers need to see, and what the executive delivering the quarter is dealing with. At 65 and starting something new, he is putting that to work for public and soon-to-be-public companies and the executives who will lead them, with faith and family as the constants.
