Sean Ndlovu is the co-founder and innovation and Research Product Manager at the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CITE), a pioneering digital media organization based in Zimbabwe. CITE is known for producing high-quality, accurate, and engaging content that amplifies voices across Zimbabwe and the African continent. With a strong background in technology and innovation, Sean is an AI entrepreneur passionate about leveraging generative AI to empower small newsrooms. His work focuses on enhancing content creation, streamlining workflows, and improving audience engagement through practical, scalable AI applications. As an experienced media and digital literacy trainer, Sean develops and facilitates training programs covering key topics such as AI in journalism, misinformation, disinformation, fact-checking, and media ethics. He equips journalists and media professionals with the tools and skills needed to navigate today’s complex information environment. Beyond journalism, Sean consults with organizations to help them harness AI for strategic innovation—developing solutions grounded in product thinking, user-centered design, and engaged journalism. His work includes building civic tech tools powered by AI to strengthen public access to information and support democratic participation. He also serves as a guest lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo, where he shares his knowledge with undergraduate journalism students. His lectures focus on AI-assisted journalism, including claim identification, verification processes, and the ethical use of AI in newsrooms. Through this role, he contributes to shaping the next generation of African journalists ready to navigate the future of news and technology.
