Get Interactive: Supercharge Power BI with using PowerApps and Power Automate

Imagine this scenario: after weeks of hard work, you’ve created an outstanding Power BI report, and a user asks, "How can I edit this data in Excel? I need to customize and manipulate the data further…" If this sounds too familiar, this session is exactly what you need! It will all be about transforming your great and interactive Power BI reports into a truly insightful and actionable user experience!

In this session, perfect for advanced developers familiar with Microsoft Power Platform, we’ll leverage PowerApps and Power Automate visuals to enhance your reports' functionality by enabling real-time data edits and automation.

Understanding these foundational elements is crucial for building robust and scalable solutions.

We won’t stop at theory. Expect a hands-on live demo that will guide you through editing data and triggering actions directly from your PowerBI reports, showcasing both simple and complex use cases that drive better decision-making.

Pushing the Limits: Unlocking APIs in Microsoft Fabric Dataflows

Getting the right data is often the most challenging part of any analytics project. Whether it’s locked away in a CRM, HR platform, or ERP system, accessing the right data is the first step to delivering real business value.

As an experienced Data Engineer or Power BI developer exploring the immense capabilities of Microsoft Fabric, you’re likely already familiar with Dataflow Gen2, which uses the same powerful Power Query you know and love from Power BI. But did you know you're not limited to the built-in connectors? With a bit of knowledge about APIs and just one function in Power Query, you can connect to almost any data source and pull in exactly the data you need - securely, efficiently, and automatically.

In this session, you’ll learn how to use the Web.Contents() function within Dataflows Gen2 to unlock access to external data sources. We’ll demystify key API concepts like bearer tokens, pagination, and rate limits, making them approachable and easy to handle.

Through hands-on demos from real-world cases, we’ll walk through the process of connecting to APIs step-by-step, starting with a simple public API, then moving to token-based authentication, and completing the journey by creating Power Query functions to deal with API pagination and rate limits.

By the end of this session, you’ll be empowered to go beyond the standard connectors and confidently bring any API data into your Microsoft Fabric environment to populate your Lakehouse and Data Warehouse or immediately unlock insights within Power BI.

Join me to empower your data projects like never before!
