Shailesh Gothi is a Software Developer based in Union City, California, with professional experience across Java, Python, C++, cloud infrastructure, Rust, Go, AWS services, JavaScript, Node.js, SAP technologies, and distributed systems. He is currently a Principal Engineer at Broadcom Inc., where he works on backend engineering, next-generation CLI-based download tooling, coding best practices, platform scalability, lifecycle management, and parallel host upgrade capacity.
Before becoming Principal Engineer, Shailesh held multiple technical roles at Broadcom, contributing to a unified microservices platform, desired-state systems for Software-Defined Data Center lifecycle management, performance optimization, event-driven core technology, data pipelines using Java and Kafka, Dev Integration Test Pipelines, and streaming architecture analysis using Apache Flink. He previously worked as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services, where he contributed to the GA launch of Bottlerocket, developed Go-based applications for automatic OS updates in ECS clusters, added KMS key support in a Rust client library for TUF repositories, and improved CI time for ECS and Kubernetes testing.
Earlier in his career, Shailesh worked at 247.ai as a Software Engineer Intern and at SAP Labs India as a Software Development Engineer, where he contributed to Slack integration, CI/CD pipelines, SAP Cloud for Analytics, SAP Lumira, SAP HANA, SAP VORA, big data visualization, JavaScript charting libraries, SQL optimization, and enterprise workflow development.
Shailesh holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida and a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal. His projects include vcf2fhir, Google Summer of Code mentorship for GA4GH Variant Annotation, technical consulting for GoApptiv, Bitcoin implementation in Elixir, database implementation in C++, and progressive rock music classification. He also has publications in genomics, FHIR, clinical bioinformatics, and health informatics, along with a U.S. patent for contextual suggestion in planning spreadsheets.
