Shane is a Senior Developer Relations Engineer who leads Open Source Strategy in Google's Open Source Program Office. Before joining OSPO, he led Google Cloud's Public Datasets Program and was a member of NOAA's Data Archive and Access Requirements Working Group for 6 years. Prior to joining Google, Shane was the project manager of NOAA’s Open Data Dissemination Program and an officer in the US Army specializing in both Air Defense Artillery and Public Affairs. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina in Sports and Entertainment Management and has a Master's in Data Analytics from UMGC.
