Shaun is the Coordinator of Orientation & New Student Programs at the University of North Texas. In this role, he supervises the orientation leader team, develops and executes first-year programming for new students, and oversees the extended orientation program, Eagle Camp.

Shaun earned his undergraduate degree from University of South Alabama in Public Relations & Advertising. He also earned his masters from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in College Student Personnel.

Shaun is a equity-centered student affairs professional who aims to bring creativity, authenticity, passion, and heart to enhance the student experience in Higher Education.

Not Your Bestie, Not Your Sis focuses on how student leaders can build meaningful relationships with the professional staff they work with. Whether year-round or seasonal, meaningful relationships with professional staff is foundational to creating a one-of-a-kind experience. Our session focuses on three third-year student leaders who have successful built relationships that have resulted in unique opportunities, newly created positions, and unparallel professional development.

Bringing the Ken-rgy to First Year Programs

Bringing the Ken-rgy to First Year Programs will focus on a comprehensive first year experience model that includes events and programs that help first year students find a sense of belonging and an affinity to campus. The presenters will talk about the highs and lows of creating signature programming for first year students throughout their first year.

Eagle Camp is an extended orientation program that is quickly becoming a signature program full of energy, opportunities for belonging, and engagement with incoming first year students. Join us as we discuss how we've formatted our extended orientation program to focus on a sense of belonging for all students, full of activities that are geared towards any student's involvement level; and promote a smooth transition into the academic year.
