Simon trained as a science teacher after completing his PhD at the John Innes Centre. Since then he has worked in 4 different schools in Norfolk, in positions including Head of Science, Director of Science College and most recently Principal of a rural 11-16 secondary school. He has joined East Norfolk Sixth Form College, this Easter as Deputy Principal. For the last three years Simon and his co-founder Samantha have been growing and developing the Youth STEMM Award, an achievement framework for students in years 9 to 13, recognising the impact of STEMM activities.
