Skyler Holobach built a compliance and abuse function from scratch at Pardot and Salesforce, taking it through multiple acquisitions and shakeups without losing a single person from her team in 7 years, ranking in the top 10% of leaders in the company the entire time. She moved into product leadership at SocketLabs next, where she grew revenue 25% YoY and shipped products from 0 to 1 as VP of Product Design and Experience. Then, in February 2026, none of her abundant high performing mattered and she got laid off.
Never one to sit around and do nothing, she made a video series entitled: "Enjoy Your Time Off! And Other Things I Wish People Would Stop Saying to Me: A Layoff Survival Guide for High-Performing Women." It covers the things nobody talks about: grief, self-compassion, and sobbing on your kitchen floor wondering why the universe hates you and won't give you a job (it doesn't hate you, but it FEELS like it).
Today, she runs Threadsmith Group, where she coaches mid-career women out of burnout with true, structural change instead of recommending a gratitude journal and a nature walk. She's spoken on the neuroscience of burnout at Unspam and has repeatedly spoken at M3AAWG and Dreamforce. She also chairs the Anti-Harassment committee for the Women of Email board, which has more than 9,000 members across 50 countries.
She's been the manager who caught burnout in other people before it turned into a resignation letter. She's been the high performer who burned out herself. She's also the one who got laid off anyway, with the metrics to prove that performance was never the problem, and she's able and excited to talk about all three.
Off the clock, she trains saber and longsword at Athens School of Arms, crochets, sews, cross stitches, weaves, and probably picked up another hobby since writing this bio. She holds a BS in Psychology from UGA and lives in Athens, Georgia.
