From 1 to 250 Lambda Functions in Production: Evolving a Startup Serverless Architecture
Building a serverless function or an API is easy. However, things get a bit more complicated as your application grows. What works for a few functions often doesn't work for hundreds of functions and services. As your application grows, you'll need to evolve your architecture, deployment, monitoring, and tooling.
This talk is a case study of the serverless startup's architecture evolution. We started with a single Lambda function in early 2018 and evolved our application through multiple stages and architectures. Currently, the application uses CQRS with GraphQL and more than 250 Lambda functions serving millions of requests.
We faced and solved many issues since we deployed our first Lambda function, learned a lot, and kept our infrastructure costs low (less than 1.5% of our MRR). And we do everything with a small team of fullstack developers without dedicated ops.

AI Agents: How do they work and how to build them
Did you know you already have all the skills you need to build an AI agent? You only need some JavaScript knowledge and an API key (optional but highly recommended).
AI agents have been a hot topic recently. Everybody talks about amazing, intelligent AI agents that often sound like popular science-fiction movies.
Let’s talk about AI agents in plain and simple language and learn how to build them using JavaScript and your favorite LLM.

Can AI replace developers: Employees, AI, and AI employees
Everyone talks about AI. It's by far the hottest topic in tech since the internet and mobile. The AGI topic was the hot one for a while, but recently it morphed into the "when will AI replace all developers" topic with each new AI model release.
Will an AI replace developers, and when? Models are getting better and better, US data center construction spending will soon surpass US office space construction spending, there are new layoffs every few months, and there are other signs. However, there are more and more developers and more open positions every day now.
Let's talk about employees, AI, and potential AI employees!

How to build an AI agent that will (eventually) work on Mars
Slow AI models make you nervous? Claude goes down for a few hours and your working day is done? GitHub losing 9s of uptime faster than you spend your daily AI quota makes you lose your hair? These are rookie problems.
Our AI agents struggle in a world of fiber internet, managed clouds, and a tool for everything. So what happens when we want to build an AI agent that will (eventually) work on Mars?
From the creator of “How to build a website that will (eventually) work on Mars,” a talk that aged about as well as you’d expect, comes a sequel with worse latency and higher stakes.
I gave a fun conference talk about building a website that would eventually work on Mars 10 years ago, and it went better than I expected. It's time for a sequel!
