Smruti Patel is an Engineering Manager at Stripe, where she leads the LEAP and Data Platform engineering organizations. LEAP develops strategy and builds tools for cost optimization of our AWS cloud spend, and lowers Stripe's end-to-end latency through performance tuning. And the Data Platform teams host the underlying data warehousing, and the batch/streaming processing infrastructure to support high throughput/low latency data processing and analytics for mission-critical business usecases, while ensuring security, reliability and efficiency.

Her experience has given her a view into a wide variety of engineering velocities and shipping styles — from an enterprise release every two years to a SaaS deploy every two weeks. Through these, she has studied, analyzed, developed and practiced a generic playbook applicable to building, leading and empowering high performing, execution focused teams.

Her interests include mentoring and coaching, hiking with her boys, and traveling.
