Hi!

I'm Socrates Charisis, a CS student that dropped out of University 10 years ago to turn into a self taught UX Designer and then turned into Entrepreneur.

During 2015-16, as a UI designer, I was designing mobile apps & firmware for the elderly, focusing on accessibility.

Since 2017, after a few startup attempts, I co-founded Quintessential SFT, a Digital Product Agency, based in Athens, Greece, that works with businesses and startups across the world. Quintessential Designs & Develops software. We are currently a small agency of 30 people, most us them developers & designers.

There, I lead the design initiatives, leading a team of 5 designers and I also undertake design projects from scratch.

Since 2018, I am also serving as the Figma Community Advocate of Athens, one of the first Figma local communities, facilitating & running IRL & online events, bringing creatives and leaders together.

In 2020, I became a certified User Experience professional, from the NNg group and in 2022 I upgraded my certification to User Experience Master.

Since 2021 I am also helping people go through their online UX studies on DesignLab and eventually land a job in the industry. There, I've served as a mentor for more than 35 people that went the full distance (joining, graduating, landing their first UX job).

During 2022, about a year ago, my team and I started working on our biggest design challenge so far. The redesign of public.gr.

On my weekends and since January 2023, I'm also contributing on ADPList as a volunteer mentor, providing some mentoring sessions to anyone who's interested in the Design world.

Some facts about me:

a. I am a user of Figma since 2015.(yes!)

b. Leading, Making & Teaching are some fundamental principles that have shaped me.

c. Whenever I've got some spare time, I usually go for a run or a pickup basketball game.

d. I love travelling and planning to do the Ring Road trip in Iceland in August. (13 days for a full round of Iceland)

e. I am Excited about where the industry is going. Currently exploring: Framer, Spline & Origami as complimentary tools to my Figma.

f. I am a sneaker collector, loving Jordan's and Air Force 1's.
