Sonman Roul is a Senior Product Manager at American Express, where he has spent over 14 years building and scaling digital payment solutions within the Global Commercial Services organization. Sonman built American Express's ACH banking governance and regulatory oversight program from the ground up, establishing collaboration frameworks across diverse stakeholder groups including technology teams, external banks, controllership, NACHA, and money transmission authorities. He leads a comprehensive team of 9 managers and 5 analysts supporting all business operational functions, from partner integration strategy to data analytics, risk management, and capability development.
Prior to his current role, Sonman served as Manager of Digital Product Development (2017-2021), where he developed the operational strategy for newly built B2B payment API platforms and led the operationalization of American Express's ACH Payment service. In this capacity, he managed a global commercial onboarding transformation program that reduced onboarding time for global client integrations by 56%.
Sonman holds an MBA in Project Management from United Business Institutes in Brussels and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh. He is a Certified Scrum Master and Certified Kanban Project Manager, with deep expertise in agile methodologies, DevOps maturity, and enterprise digital transformation.
