Hi, I’m Soumen Pal 👨💻
I don’t just ship apps — I design systems that hold up in the real world.
I’m obsessed with the hard edges of mobile: 🔋 BLE that reconnects when the field gets messy
🧩 KMP that shares what matters — without fighting the platform
⚡ Background work that respects battery, network, and the user’s time
Great apps aren’t just shared code — they feel reliable.
That’s the bar I aim for every time I ship Kotlin Multiplatform in production.

Cross-Platform Hardware in KMP: BLE, Workers, and Native Interop That Survives Production
A deep dive into running Kotlin Multiplatform in real production apps—not demos. We’ll walk through how shared KMP modules power EV charging products on Android and iOS, with a focus on three hard edges of mobile: Bluetooth Low Energy (Android GATT + iOS CoreBluetooth), common background workers and offline-first sync, and Swift–Kotlin interop (ObjC headers, .def files, and what actually breaks when you bridge native APIs into shared protocol logic).
You’ll see how to structure expect/actual boundaries so platform code stays thin, how reconnect and connection-state policies keep BLE resilient in the field, and how WorkManager-style background pipelines survive flaky networks. The session is aimed at engineers shipping (or about to ship) KMP beyond “shared networking and models”—into hardware, background work, and native interop that has to hold up in production.
