Spence Spencer is the Director of the System Configuration and Delivery Automation Division within the Office of the Chief Information Officer at USPTO. The Division is responsible for automating software asset build, test and deployment for USPTO-developed and off-the-shelf software assets. The Division supports product teams developing custom business solutions deployed on-premise and in commercial cloud providers through the provision of source code management and automated software delivery pipelines. Spence has been with USPTO since 2012, except for a short period at the National Weather Service. Prior to joining USPTO, Spence spent 12 years working at the University of Maryland College Park. Spence is a U.S. Army veteran. Spence was awarded FCW Federal 100 honors for 2023.
