Actions
Stefan builds and advises on systems where technological sovereignty, software architecture, and organizational design meet. His work takes a systemic view of technology: architectures are not isolated technical artifacts, but part of larger organizational, operational, and social systems whose boundaries, dependencies, and feedback loops shape what they can achieve.
As founder and architect of PrAIvate, he is developing a privacy-first RAG platform built almost entirely on free software, with proprietary components limited to the models themselves. His current work focuses on sovereign AI architectures, reproducible environments, infrastructure automation, security, observability, and deployment independence across personal computers, data centers, and cloud infrastructure.
He has contributed to major open-source migration and digital-sovereignty initiatives, including LiMux and the architectural groundwork for what later became openDesk. His approach combines technical architecture with systems thinking and Kanban, with particular emphasis on building AI systems that remain understandable, modular, and operationally independent.
Previous speaking engagements include LinuxCon Europe, Big Data Week, AI Tech Summit, SFSCon, FOSSASIA, OpenTechSummit, LinuxTag, and CeBIT.
