Currently, I serve as the Director of Clemson Network & Operations Center. Using 35+ years of customer and IT support service to engage network technicians, system customers, and system developers, ensuring new systems, updates, and changes have minimal impact on the computing environment. We monitor network devices and Enterprise systems for the campus and some external customers. Our NOC is a 24x7x365 operation. Our goal is to become more predictive than reactive. Thus avoiding significant downtime for the institution.
My IT career teaches me there will always be some disruption, as any change always does. My job and the team's job is to lessen the impact as much as possible. This is done by creating technical and personal relationships. My earlier years as a federal, state, and military IT support contractor taught me many things. The most important is that communication solves most technical issues. Communicating what will happen, why, and how it will be changed eases the stress of the entire IT chain.

The interactive and visual presentation is designed to get your team from here to there. We will teach and remind each other of the value of changing our position on the balcony to observe our leadership style.
The session's discussion topics are planned for Creating a Growth Mindset, Leading from Where You Are, and The Importance of Looking Through the Three Lenses (Political, Cultural, and Strategic). The discussion includes using small groups with share-outs and interactive polling of participants. As the presenter, I will give live polling questions around topics presented during the session. The small groups and share-outs are real-world problems that today's leaders face.
