Stuart Cantor, Ph.D., has a unique background with R&D/manufacturing, quality & regulatory expertise across the food, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical industries. He is currently President of Cantor Consulting. His specialization includes product formulation/commercialization and process development across a wide range of dosage forms. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, a M.S. in Food Science (included 1 year of food engineering coursework), and a B.S. in Chemistry. Dr. Cantor has written 65 publications including book chapters on tablets and capsules and three publications from work at FDA. Dr. Cantor’s expertise with dosage forms includes tablets (effervescent and fast melting), capsules, coatings, controlled-release technologies, chewing gums, soft chews, mints, tinctures, and skin creams and balms. Dr. Cantor is experienced in developing nanoemulsions and great tasting CBD/hemp products.
He previously served as a Principal Scientist at a skin care CMO for two years and developed a range of products from R&D stage to either clinical or commercial stage. Prior to this he was a R&D Scientific Consultant at both Agios Pharmaceuticals and Proteus Digital Health. At Agios, Dr. Cantor travelled to various CMOs in the USA/Canada for the manufacture of clinical trial materials (coated tablets and capsules). At Proteus, Dr. Cantor helped to develop a combination healthcare product (drug tablet containing a moisture-sensitive semiconductor device). He was responsible for developing formulations, manufacturing, and conducting stability testing to ensure proper sensor functioning. Proteus received FDA approval for the first marketed digital medicine product.
