Snowsight: An introduction to Snowflake's powerful and easy-to-use web interface
Snowsight is replacement for Snowflake’s classic old-style console and it is designed to support data analyst activities.
Snowsight allows you to create and manage all Snowflake objects, including virtual warehouses, databases, and all database objects. Then you can load limited amounts of data into tables, execute ad hoc queries, get contextual statistics, format the query and perform other DML/DDL operations. You can also get information about past queries.
You can create charts and add them as tiles into Dashboards with custom filters. These dashboards can be shared with other users.
This session will be primarily demoing these capabilities.
Snowflake stored procedures and functions
Snowflake allows us to write stored procedures in multiple languages such as SQL, JavaScript, and using using the Snowpark API you can also write them in Java, Python and Scala.
In this session I will focus on how to write procedures in SQL and Javascript. Then we will look into how to call them and security aspects.
Also I will show similarities and differences between stored-procs and User Defined Functions.
Power BI, more POWER to you
In this session I will introduce you to Power BI and its ever expanding features. I will show how you can develop visually rich and interactive reports, while connecting to several types of data. Also you can summarize your data, add complex calculations and provide conditional logic. These reports can be distributed to both internal and external users.
Power BI is always changing, literally every month. Lets take a quick tour!
