Sunusi Muhammad Ibrahim is a passionate Petroleum Engineering student at Bayero University Kano (BUK), Nigeria, and a rising innovator at the intersection of energy and artificial intelligence. With a focus on applying computer vision and machine learning to solve real world problems in the oil and gas industry, Sunusi is pioneering research in areas such as core sample analysis, reservoir performance prediction, pipeline leak detection, and equipment failure forecasting using AI.
He serves as the Program Chair of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), BUK Chapter, where he leads impactful initiatives that bridge the gap between industry and academia. Sunusi is also
the Co-Founder and CTO of EJAZTECH.AI, a community driven AI startup empowering underserved populations in Africa through mentorship, and open-source AI projects.
His projects have gained recognition at national and international conferences, including SPE Nigerian Annual International Conference ( NAICE) and the SAASC Energy Challenge. He is a believer in the power of youth driven innovation and is on a mission to make AI accessible for all especially in transforming traditional industries like petroleum.
