Simple Steps to Secure Your Azure SQL Database

Adopting Azure SQL Database comes with a plethora of benefits related to management, tuning, scalability, and DR. But by default, there's a public endpoint and that might give you some pause. In this session, you'll learn techniques to secure your Azure SQL Database using authorization, network rules, and monitoring so that risks are mitigated. You'll see demos to create service endpoints and private endpoints, enable Azure AD integration, and set up auditing. You'll walk away with a Bicep template to create a demo environment that implements these controls so you can easily experiment on your own.

Beginning Bicep: IaC for Azure

This session will show you how you can ramp up your IaC skills with Bicep. This is going to be all about Microsoft's domain-specific language for Azure deployments. We'll cover the basics of the syntax, use parameters to customize a deployment, use modules to create re-usable assets, and deploy using the az cli and PowerShell.

From Code to Published in Minutes with Azure Static Web Apps

Today’s web apps fall into a few common patterns: monoliths, microservices, and static frontend with an API backend. If your app belongs to the latter category (or maybe doesn’t even have a backend), publishing your app should be simple and require no knowledge of infrastructure. The Azure Static Web Apps service enables just that. In this talk, you’ll be introduced to Azure Static Web Apps (SWA), you’ll learn about an application that might be considered a typical good candidate for SWA, and you’ll see how the application is deployed in minutes. The application includes authentication and authorization, multiple environments for reviewing new PRs, and a custom domain name. By the end of the session, you’ll know how to evaluate your application’s fit for SWA and how to get started with your first deployment.

Getting to Green with Azure Policy

You know that compliance matters for your organization. In this session, you will see demonstrations of how Azure Policy's built-in initiatives for common compliance frameworks can be effectively used to help secure your workloads and demonstrate compliance. You'll learn how to read the policy definition so you can understand what it's auditing; how to effectively use exclusions, exemptions, and overrides; use machine configuration to check OS settings; and create report outputs.
