Professor Taofik Adewale Adedosu is a Professor of Organic Geochemistry in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He has held this position since 2015. He earned his B.Tech. (Hons) in Chemistry from LAUTECH in 1997, and subsequently obtained an M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry (2001) and Ph.D. in Organic Geochemistry (2009) from the University of Ibadan.
Prof. Adedosu’s research interests lie at the intersection of petroleum geochemistry, source rock evaluation, environmental forensics, natural products chemistry and biomass valorization for renewable energy. He combines classical organic geochemical techniques with advanced instrumentation to tackle critical challenges in hydrocarbon exploration, pollution diagnostics, and the global transition to sustainable energy systems. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at major international conferences across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
He is a recipient of several notable research and mobility grants, including the TETFund National Research Fund (NRF) Grant and the prestigious TWAS-CAS Postgraduate (Key Laboratory of Gas Geochemistry, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Lanzhou,PR China, 2007-2008) and Postdoctoral (State Key Laboratory of Organic Geochemistry, Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Guangzhou, PR China, 2012-2013) Fellowship. His leadership roles include Director of the Centre for Research, Innovation and Discovery (2019–2023), Director of Research and Development (2023–2024), and currently, Director of the Centre for Academic Linkages and International Affairs (CALIA) at LAUTECH. Since August 2024, he also chairs the University’s Ranking Advisory Committee.
Prof. Adedosu is a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN) and holds active memberships in professional bodies such as the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), The Society for Organic Petrology (TSOP), and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE). His work continues to make significant contributions to Nigeria’s scientific development, especially in the domains of geoscience research, energy policy, and academic collaboration.
